Tandoori Chicken- The Indian Best

Tandoori Chicken one of the most common name that is heard, spelled, eaten and known by everyone in India and outside India. like shammi kebab tandoori chicken too has a very strong influence on foodies. People who love eating and who don't all fall in love with this great recipe. I have tried my hands often with this recipe because it is not only one of my favorite but also my family's. In any special occasion, party or for some celebration this is one of the dish that has always been a part of the dinner table. If you are not a vegetarian you will once taste this recipe in your life and surely try to make it one day.
Like roasting making tandoori is very common in India. As there are many modern gadgets available in the market, making tandoori chicken is much easier these days. No one needs a tandoor machine at home, a microwave oven is enough for cooking.

Overwhelmed

It has been only a month and I am so excited today, this is because I have recieved a blog award. Yes I love blogging and especially when it concerns food. But it is really shocking for me to learn that my blog has been nominated by Jen from Jenbeansblog as "One Lovely Blog. Only 8 posts and this award. So I would like to sincelry thank Jen for nominating me and giving a high charge to my confidence in cooking.

It has always been a pleasure to cook and this award has increased the pleasure level. i am out of words and overwhelmed. Though it is too much but indeed  we all know the 1st award is always the best. So I have dedicated an entire post just to blab about it.

A Simple Pudding With Nuts And Chocolate

Learning to write is something that I have been doing since childhood, I meant to say this statement because I have been trying to write good for a long time now. When I read articles on various topics from various sources I land up feeling degraded. Though my job is creative and I more or less enjoy it but still somewhere I lack something. I am missing a spice in life and I do not know what it is. Meanwhile my love for cooking increases with time and whenever I find my mentor , my mother in the kitchen all I do is move behind her like a puppy to see her recipe secrets. No person has ever defeated or reached the standard of their mentors and I surely never will but the recipes that I have learnt and am still learning from her will remain with me forever and like traditional handover will be passed on to the next generation.

Simple and Easy Pudding

Enough with the philosophical thinking, I think as I am trying to croos my mid twenties I am becoming wiser in a sense and sarcastic in another. Recently I made a simple pudding that is easy to make if not very quick, but if you have all the ingredients at one place you can surely finish this dish by 5-7 minutes. Pudding is one of the things that many of us love to eat. In my family pudding is the personal favourite of many. The story of loving started from my mother first preparing caramelized pudding. Though now various versions are being made nearly every month, few of them still remain favourite including my ma's caramelized pudding.

All This Time

I have recently been introduced to blogging and therefore I have so much to learn. Blogging is not easy now I am sure of it. Cooking is much easy though. There so many small to big things that a blog needs so that it can reach people and people can reach it. There are so many blogs worldwide on various topics and all striving hard to show their passion and talent. I have been reading and following a few blogs and they are so interesting. There are so many good ideas now that are generating in my slow mind and I think very soon I will be able to adapt with the blogging community. There is one thing we all believe, when we do something we like, it automatically reflects. I think it is the new beginning. Neway coming back to what i inteneded to do in this post. I have started my blog on 19.6.2012 and here is a recap of all the recipes and posts till date.

Mango Almond Cream

Mango Almond Cream

There are plenty of mangoes found in India during the summer. It is one of the best part of summer that i like. Despite the scorching heat when you get to taste the ripe mangoes nothing can be more heavenly in this world. Dad brought a kilo of mangoes from the market and unknowingly mom did the same and i did the same while returning home from office. There are so many mangoes in the refrigerator that it makes me think what to do with them.
After thinking a lot and having a desire for sweet I tried making a chilled cream with mango that turned out to be a perfect desert for the night.

Creamy Mushroom Platter

While searching Google and reading few other blogs I found out a wonderful site, I know many of you use it and this is something I discovered as soon as I created an account on this site called Foodbuzz. There are so many food bloggers in this world and they all are so fantastic that i m thinking of adding some of them to my daily reading list. The recipes they share, the community bonding that these bloggers have are so much real and good. So I thought of adding my Mushroom Cream recipe as a very small contribution to this foodie community of the world.

C3- Crispy Chilli Chickpea

Cooking vegetarian items is tough especially for us who love to eat meat. In my case though I can go without meat for a week or two maximum but instead I require onion and garlic to bless my food. Here in India Vegetarianism are of 2types
  1. You are a complete vegan with a strict no consumption of meat, egg, fish, onion or garlic in your stomach doors.
  2. You are a semi vegan(as i call) where you get a narrow escape by allowing yourself to consume food made by adding onion and garlic.
Though I am a complete non vegetarian sometimes due to some auspicious celebrations and ceremonies I too have to compromise myself with the Class 2.
This recipe is one of the best tasting vegan recipes that I have tried till date. It has a crispy, tangy, and smooth texture inside your mouth when you taste it. The best part being you can enjoy this recipe with rice, roti or just as an evening snack.

How To Make Amchur ( Dried Mango Powder)

The latest theory that I learnt today is that Amchur which is dry mango powder can also be made in the oven. In general this powder is made with the help of machines in factories and drying in sunlight at home. But there is a quick and alternative way, that is not only easy but a time saver. Amchur has been used in many Indian recipes to add a scent and flavor of raw mango. Therefore we can clearly understand that this powder is a spice made of raw mangoes.  I thought of describing the process making Amchur because, all foodies love cooking, they also like making food of all countries and someday they will surely try Indian and Sri Lankan food which has this dried spice among one of the major ingredients.

Mangoes

A Mango is only a simple mango for many people, but for me it is a fruit that enriches my senses and my soul. Every year I have to wait for the sweaty summers to come so that I can have my share of mangoes. When you cut a slice of mango to savor the taste, a very tangy flavor with doses  of sweet sugar reaches your mouth. At the very same time when you breathe and inhale air, your nose smells a flowery scent that arouses your tongue to taste more of the yellow juicy flesh of Mango.

The Kilimanjaro Effect

Coffee cup
Yesterday I brought a coffee that was highlighted as coffee from Kilimanjaro. Though I might not show the name of the brand but there were many other origin destinations for the coffee jars available. I picked up Kilimanjaro as I was always been fascinated by some of the states and continents of the world, one of them being Africa. Needless to say that any of us will know by now that as soon as I had one sip from it I was eternally blessed. The strong aroma, the smooth taste and definitely the granules of the coffee gave it a taste and look that cannot be described merely in adjectives.
